Everything you need to play the 2016 alpha of Fortnite: Save the World on our server - and everything we added to it.
← Server status & downloadFive minutes from nothing to your first husk.
The front page shows whether the server is Online right now, and when it's next open. It runs in sessions, not all day.
You need your own copy of the OT6.5 build (2252016-3240987) and the OT6.5Revive launcher from the front page. BROWSE to your game's folder.
Type play.ot65revive.com, press TEST CONNECTION, pick a display name and a password - you'll need it for the wheel, and it keeps your name yours.
The first time makes your account. Every new player starts with the tutorial (about 16 minutes, from the cave to the rocket). After that the theater map is yours.
One mission holds up to four players. If the front page says Server full, every mission server is in use - a place frees up when a mission ends, so try again in a few minutes. Playing as a party of friends uses one mission between you.
Fortnite from 2016 - over a year before Battle Royale. A pre-alpha of Save the World: build forts, loot, craft, and hold off the husks with friends. Epic's servers for it are long gone; OT6.5 Revive brings the whole game back, from sign-in to Victory!
Damage, building and gathering earn points in a mission. At the end they turn into Commander XP and hero XP, and every Commander level pays its own rewards.
Abilities unlock as a hero levels up, to level 20. From level 11 every level gives a skill point for the hero's perk trees - 10 at level 20.
After the tutorial you name your homebase and build your first hero building. Buildings cost power, manufacturing parts and construction plans; survivors slot in and boost your hero's health, shield, damage and jump.
The early Storm Shield Defense: one outpost per theater, played in legs - deploy the Storm Shield core, build a Harvesting Optimizer and the Fabricator (it turns items into quantum goo and goo into new items), craft an Amplifier and hold the waves. Your builds are saved.
The Vindertech store sells this build's llamas - Upgrade, Silver, Gold, the Troll Stash, survivor and weapon packs. Craft weapons and traps from schematics; loot comes in five rarities.
Stonewood, Plankerton, Canny Valley and Twine Peaks. Each opens once the last outpost leg of the one before is done. Quests, 19 daily quests (V-Bucks), a daily login reward and mission alerts every six hours.
Not in this build: Battle Royale (it didn't exist yet) and Defenders (2017). The 2016 menus were made for the mouse - OT6.5 Revive taught them the Xbox controller.
Guns and grenades: Frag Grenade (level 1), Shockwave (2), Debilitating Shots (4), Make It Rain (6), Lingering Pain (8), Goin' Commando (10).
The builder: B.A.S.E. (1), Plasma Pulse (2), Containment Unit (4), Exit Plan (6), Bull Rush (8).
Fast and up close: Throwing Stars, Smoke Bomb and Dragon Slash.
The explorer: Anti-Material Charge, Fragment and Gravity Sphere.
Play, pick a theater and a mission tile. The panel lists its rewards. Quick Play works too.
Pick your hero and gadgets (Air Strike, Hover Turret...). The party leader presses Launch.
The objective box under the minimap lists your steps. Husks sleep around the map and come in waves. Build, loot, fight.
Click to continue opens the results with the card packs you earned. Your loot stays in your backpack and your party stays together.
Walls, floors, stairs and roofs on F1-F4, then edit and upgrade them. Swing the pickaxe for wood, stone and metal - your outpost's Harvesting Optimizer gives you a better tool.
Every shot or swing wears a weapon down; a worn-out one breaks. Traps go on their own slots and never hurt your team. I opens the inventory: craft once you hold every ingredient.
Hero abilities sit on Z X C, gadgets on their own slots. On "YOU HAVE DIED", click to respawn (or A on a pad) - you come back where you last stood.
One to four gates: find the Storm Gate, place the Atlas, feed it BluGlo from the side missions, activate it and survive the waves.
A weather balloon to protect. The husks go for it - and switch to you when you get close.
Its own objective chain, with badges from bronze to platinum.
One of the build's five mission types, in every theater.
Scout the zone, then hold off a raid.
Storm Shield Defense, leg by leg, from its tile on the theater map.
An experimental mode from before Battle Royale: two bases, two cornerstones, husk waves marching on the other side's. First cornerstone to fall loses.
The Halloween limited-time mission, on its own tab of the theater map during the Halloween weekend. More below.

Every zone scatters side missions around the map - always a few, plus two at random.
Crystals to carry to the Atlas; the zone tops them up every 10 minutes.
Press E to start it, build around it and keep the husks off it.
A husk camp with guards: it wakes as you come near. Clear it for rewards and BluGlo.
One of the zone's chests isn't a chest. Careful what you search.
They wake when you walk right up, shoot near them or hit them.
"Place the Atlas before time expires!" - each one completed adds its badge on the results screen.
Side events made for OT6.5 Revive. From Canny Valley on, they turn up in a mission by themselves, the way the BluGlo pylons and encampments do.
In the game: Options → Game tab → HuskController → Random Events.

OT6.5 Revive's Halloween limited-time mission. During the Halloween weekend a new tab, Fortnitemares, appears on the theater map with one tile. Launch it like any mission - alone or with up to three friends.
Night falls. Three jack-o'-lanterns are hidden around you - the HUD says how far and which way. Each one you light brings pumpkins... and something that came to watch.
The church bell rings eleven. Two and a half minutes of waves - husks, pitchers, sploders and Takers - with trick-or-treat drops between them. The full moon makes the husks restless.

Victory completes the mission like any other, with a pumpkin shower for everyone still standing. The mission's rewards:
All weekend long, the Halloween side events join the random events in every mission that has them - Trick or Treat, Werewolf Night, the Haunting, Pumpkin Rain and the Graveyard Shift.
At wheel.ot65revive.com you can spin the Director's Chaos wheel on your own mission: husk parties, llama rain, low gravity, giant heroes, moon jumps, a Smasher... for everyone in your game.

Plug the pad in before you start the game. In menus the first press highlights a button; then the D-pad or stick moves and A clicks. The keyboard and mouse keep working alongside it.
In the launcher, pick Borderless at your desktop's resolution. It also lifts the 2016 game's old frame-rate cap.
Everyone on the server is on your friends list once you've finished the tutorial. Invite friends to a party in the front end - parties travel together, pick a mission together and stay together after it. Teammates' health bars show on your HUD.
The chat box in the front end is the server's global chat. Say hi.
It's a small, unsigned app. Choose More info, then Run anyway - but only for the file from this site (its SHA-256 is on the front page).
Every mission server is busy (the front page says Server full), or the servers are starting. Cancel, wait a minute and try again.
Rare. Rejoin from the map - your backpack and progress are kept.
The game is 32-bit and only has 4 GB of memory to work with. If it ever freezes after many missions in a row, restart the game.
Exclusive Fullscreen can freeze the game when the resolution changes in the game's Options. Borderless at your desktop's resolution never switches modes.
Ask the server's hosts for help. Passwords are only stored as one-way hashes, so nobody can read yours.
